SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of United States Army Sergeant Timothy D. Sayne of Fort Wainwright, Alaska, formerly of Effingham, who passed away on September 18, 2011; and

WHEREAS, Sgt. Timothy Sayne was born on November 28, 1979, in Henderson, Kentucky; he is the son of Mary "Kathy" Sayne and Robert Sayne; he married Thania Agustin on October 17, 2009, in Reno, Nevada; and

WHEREAS, Sgt. Timothy Sayne was a graduate of Effingham High School; and

WHEREAS, Sgt. Timothy Sayne served his country with pride and distinction as a member of the United States Army since February of 2008; he graduated from basic training and advanced individual training at Fort Knox, Kentucky, and arrived at Fort Wainwright, Alaska in August of 2008; he served a tour of duty in Iraq from September of 2008 to September of 2009 as a cavalry scout in support of Operation Enduring Freedom; he served with the 5th Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment, 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team of the 25th Infantry Division at the time of his passing; and

WHEREAS, Sgt. Timothy Sayne was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert B. and Rita Even; and

WHEREAS, Sgt. Timothy Sayne is survived by his wife, Thania; his son, Timothy Kalvin; his mother, Kathy Sayne; his brothers, Cory (Jamie) Sayne and Joey (Desiree) Sayne; his sister, Paige (George) Huntington; his three nieces; and his two nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of United States Army Sergeant Timothy D. Sayne; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Sgt. Timothy Sayne as an expression of our sympathy.
