SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of James "Jim" Pesoli, who passed away on September 13, 2011; and

WHEREAS, In 1989, James Pesoli founded Icon Electrical Contractors, Inc., a commercial contracting company that has developed countless buildings and communities throughout Cook County and the surrounding counties; as an electrician by trade, he had a passion for creating something that could be appreciated throughout time; and

WHEREAS, James Pesoli was a four-time cancer survivor who never stopped smiling through his life; in 1985, he founded Kids Fight Cancer, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children and families afflicted with cancer; over the years, he was nicknamed "The Fairy Godfather"; countless friends, colleagues, and members of the public throughout the United States believed in his passion, his motivation, the charity's mission, and his message to "Celebrate Life"; and

WHEREAS, James Pesoli is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 34 years, Susan Pesoli; his sons, Jim Pesoli, Esq. and Joe Pesoli; his daughter-in-law Michelle Pesoli; his grandchildren, Dominic James Pesoli and Luciana Grace Pesoli; his parents, James and Angeline "Babe" Pesoli; his sisters, AnnMarie Bartee and Patricia Masini; his brothers-in-law, Craig Toblesky, Robert Bartee, and John Masini; his nieces and nephews, John, Shannon, Anthony, Jennifer, Bob, Vanessa, Bryan, Jessica, and Aleksa; and his grand-nieces and grand-nephews, Marissa, Monica, Isabella, Jack, Joe, Alyssa, Gianna, Lauren, Charlie, and Danny; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of James "Jim" Pesoli; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of James Pesoli as an expression of our sympathy.
