SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Steve Munson of Elgin; and

WHEREAS, Steve Munson was a driving force in Elgin's technology community; he was one of the first to lobby for high-speed Internet access for downtown Elgin; he and his wife, Illinois State Representative Ruth Munson, founded Everyware Inc. in 1987; Everyware's clients included such companies as AT&T; and

WHEREAS, Steve Munson was a crucial member of Elgin's Downtown Neighborhood Association; he was also a member of the United Way of Elgin board and a member of the First Congregational Church in Elgin; and

WHEREAS, Steve Munson is survived by his wife, Illinois State Representative Ruth Munson, and his children, Olivia and Ryan; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Steve Munson; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Steve Munson as an expression of our sympathy.
