SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Ralf Seiffe of Wilmette, who passed away on September 1, 2011; and

WHEREAS, Ralf Rockford Seiffe graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1976, and was initiated into the Sigma Chi Fraternity; and

WHEREAS, His career began as a senior lending officer for the former Fidelity-Philadelphia Trust Company; in 1980, he and his brother, Roger, established Mail Sort, Inc., a mailing services company in the Chicago area; and

WHEREAS, He won the United States Postal Service Industry Excellence Award and, in 1989, marshaled the team that created ElectroCom Mail Systems; since 2002, he concentrated on developing private start-ups as an investor or as an early stage manager; and

WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his father, Warren Seiffe; and

WHEREAS, He was the husband of 28 years to Elizabeth Blatz, the father of Rhys and Reiker Seiffe, and is survived by his mother, Joann Howells; and his brothers, Roger and Christopher Seiffe; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Ralf Seiffe; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Ralf Seiffe as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
