SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Gladys A. Griffin of Mascoutah, who passed away on August 12, 2011; and

WHEREAS, Gladys Griffin was born on May 17, 1927, in Okawville; her parents were Alvin and Olinda Riechmann; she married Russell A. Griffin, Jr. on March 28, 1945, in Mascoutah; and

WHEREAS, Gladys Griffin was a co-owner of the Griffin Construction Company of Mascoutah; she was also a 30-year employee at Santini Plaza in Fort Meyers Beach, Florida; and

WHEREAS, Gladys Griffin was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Mascoutah; and

WHEREAS, Gladys Griffin was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and her brother, Lester Riechman; and

WHEREAS, Gladys Griffin is survived by her daughters, Carol Griffin-Kolar and her husband, James, and Jeanne Hamann and her husband, Kent; her grandchildren, Jennifer Kolar-Burden and her husband, Matthew, Christopher Hamann and Taryn Quitmeyer, and Matthew Hamann; her great-grandchildren, Samantha Cameron and Jack and Gracie Kolar-Burden; her sister-in-law, Betty Riechman; her nephew, J. R. Riechman; and her many dear friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Gladys A. Griffin; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Gladys A. Griffin as an expression of our sympathy.
