SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Norma Jean Weems of Batavia, who passed away on August 15, 2011; and

WHEREAS, Norma Jean Weems was born on December 10, 1946, in Laurel, Mississippi; her parents were Malphord and Mary Colenia (Walden) Weems; and

WHEREAS, Norma Jean Weems was employed as the executive assistant to the Kane County Board chairman for the past 17 years; and

WHEREAS, Norma Jean Weems was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Malphord; Mickey and William Weems; and her sister, Helen Murphy; and

WHEREAS, Norma Jean Weems is survived by her daughter, Lisa Zilonis; her son, Robert Brown; her granddaughter, Sarah Zilonis; her sisters, Evelyn Hinton, Nancy (Jerry) Michalek, and Laverne (Alton) Daniels; her brothers, Ronald Weems and Dale Weems; and her many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Norma Jean Weems; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Norma Jean Weems as an expression of our sympathy.
