SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Rebecca Elizabeth Kanohokela Kahooluhi
4Patton, who passed away on May 20, 2011; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Rebecca Elizabeth Kanohokela Kahooluhi Patton was
6born December 1, 1923 in Hawaii to Phillip and Maria
7Kahooluhiof Hawaii; and
 
8    WHEREAS, She was employed at Pearl Harbor during World War
9II and was the Lei Day Queen of Pearl Harbor in 1944; she
10worked at Great Lakes when she came over to the main land after
11World War II; and
 
12    WHEREAS, She retired from the Lake County Courthouse
13Management Services Department after 32 years of service; she
14was an active volunteer and supporter of the Lake County Forest
15Preserve, the Lake County Council for Seniors, Immaculate
16Conception Church Rummage Sales, the Senior Circle, St. Therese
17Hospital, the Waukegan Symphony Concert Call, the
18Waukegan-North Chicago Senior Citizens Club, and Women of the
19Moose; and
 
20    WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband, John
21Patton; her daughter, Ann Patton; and her parents, Phillip and

1Maria Kahooluhi; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Rebecca Elizabeth Kanohokela Kahooluhi Patton is
3survived by her faithful companion, Lili; her special friends,
4Doug and Gloria Camarato; her God-children, Karen Swain, Meg
5Zirkelbach, Jim Lutter, and Jeff Pierce; her nieces and
6nephews, Jacqui (Dom) Sacramento, Janet (Ron) Clift, Al (Sara)
7Hancock, Mary O'Flaherty, Kelly (Dan) Howes, and Patrick
8O'Flaherty; and many friends; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
11her family and friends, the passing of Rebecca Elizabeth
12Kanohokela Kahooluhi Patton; and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Rebecca Elizabeth Kanohokela
15Kahooluhi Patton as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
