SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Thomas Dale "Tinker Tom" Innes of Hindsboro, who passed away on October 3, 2010; and

WHEREAS, He was born June 29, 1949 in Tuscola to Robert Dale and Nora Mae (Butcher) Innes; he married Cheryl Sue Hallowell on June 14, 1968 at the Antioch Baptist Church in Oakland; and

WHEREAS, He was retired from the Illinois Department of Transportation, where he worked as a highway maintainer; he served as treasurer of Douglas County Pheasants Forever; he was a member of the Tuscola Moose Lodge and the Bowdre Township Cemetery Board, and served on the Hindsboro Community Fire Protection District as Assistant Chief Firefighter and First Responder; and

WHEREAS, He enjoyed hunting and travel, and dearly loved his family, especially his grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his father; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Innes is survived by his wife, Cheryl; his mother, Nora Innes; his son, Michael Dale (Denise) Innes; his daughters, Paula Sue Innes and fiancé, Doug Williams, Connie (Jeff) Hoel, and Carol (Alan) Myers; his sister, Pam (Larry) Biggs; and his grandchildren, Malcolm Innes and Jack, Alex, Brittni, and Zachary Hoel; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Thomas Innes; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Thomas Innes as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
