SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Officer Dwayne Parks, who passed away November 23, 2010; and

WHEREAS, Officer Parks had served with the Stroger Hospital Police Department for 16 years; and

WHEREAS, Officer Parks previously served with the U.S. Air Force as a security police officer for six years; and

WHEREAS, Officer Parks maintained the star number 7504; and

WHEREAS, Officer Parks proudly served the law enforcement community for 21 years; and

WHEREAS, Officer Parks leaves behind a wife, 11 children, and his mother; and

WHEREAS, Officer Parks dedicated and gave his life to protecting and serving the people of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Officer Dwayne Parks; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Officer Dwayne Parks as an expression of our sympathy.
