SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Maurice P. Theisen, who passed away on April 1, 2011; and

WHEREAS, Maurice Theisen was born on June 12, 1924, in Alton; he was the son of the late Leo and Theresa (Show) Theisen; he married Betty Bauer on May 7, 1994, at St. Matthew's in Alton; and

WHEREAS, Maurice Theisen was a past VFW Commander of Alton Post 1308; and

WHEREAS, Maurice Theisen enjoyed hunting and his 1942 Jeep; and

WHEREAS, Maurice Theisen was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Twyla (Smith); and his brothers, Leo Theisen and Robert Allen Theisen; and

WHEREAS, Maurice Theisen is survived by his wife, Betty; his children, Marsha and her husband, Jim Jones, and Kevin Theisen and his wife, Mary; his stepchildren, Linda and Lloyd Acup and Larry Bauer; his sisters, Marjorie and her husband, Walter Gallie, and June Stauder; his step-grandchildren, Christopher Williams and Carol Heisse; and his many step-great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Maurice P. Theisen; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Maurice Theisen as an expression of our sympathy.
