SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Gregory Ellis Brooks of Jacksonville, Florida, who passed away on March 15, 2011; and

WHEREAS, He retired from the United States Naval Services in 1995; for the past 12 years he served as an Aircraft Engine Mechanic WG8 at the Fleet Readiness Center, Southeast, in Jacksonville, Florida; and

WHEREAS, He was the loving son of Herbert Brooks Sr. and Threesa Brooks Dixon; for the past 38 years he was the loving husband of Brenda Parish Brooks; he was the beloved father of Gregory Arness (Stephanie) Brooks, Anthony (Tara) Brooks, and Kevin Brooks; he was the dear brother of Larry (Ingrid) Brooks, Joyce McGilvery, Debra Jones, Renee Brooks, Herbert Brooks Jr. (Gwen), Derrick (Sharon) Brooks, Earlene Marie Brooks, Darlene (Gregory) Robinson, Patricia (Thomas) Taylor, and Jerome Brooks; he was the dear grandfather of 12 grandchildren; and is survived by a host of other relatives and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Gregory Brooks; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Gregory Brooks as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
