SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Robert H. Schoeneweis of Wood River, who
4passed away on March 7, 2011; and
 
5    WHEREAS, He was born March 1, 1912, in Bethalto, the son of
6William and Ruth (Silland) Schoeneweis; he married the former
7Ethel Lamm on November 4, 1933, in Hartford and they shared 64
8years of marriage; and
 
9    WHEREAS, They were lifetime members of the First United
10Methodist Church of Wood River; they were avid fishermen and
11enjoyed many years together fishing in Canada, Mexico, and
12Alaska and at their winter home in Okeechobee, Florida; and
 
13    WHEREAS, He was a machinist and founded Wood River General
14Machine Works and Schoeneweis Tool & Die Co. Inc.; and
 
15    WHEREAS, In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death
16by his brothers, Bud, Warren, Clyde, and Kenneth (infant)
17Schoeneweis; his sisters, Virginia Voyles and Lorraine Yeager;
18his grandson, Brett Schoeneweis; his son-in-law, Wally
19Whipple; and his special friend, Shirley Faircloth; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Robert Schoeneweis is survived by his sons and

1daughters-in-law, Melvin and Carol Schoeneweis and Bruce and
2Karen Schoeneweis; his daughter, Susan and Doug Broadway; his
3grandchildren, Wade and Lori Schoeneweis and their sons, Jack
4and Owen; Nichol and Jeremy Sokolowski; Grant and Amanda
5Schoeneweis; and Jason and Beth Whipple and their daughter,
6Wren; his extended family members, including: Julie and Dana
7Morrow and their children, Kaitlin and Jared; Susan Rutledge
8and her son, Austin; Eric and Laurie Whipple and their
9daughter, Emily; and Maggie Broadway; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
12his family and friends, the passing of Robert Schoeneweis; and
13be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Robert Schoeneweis as a symbol of
16our sincere sympathy.
