SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Edward Peters of Aurora, who passed away
4on November 22, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Edward Peters was born in Aurora; his parents were
6Fred and Lillian (Poss) Peters; he married Jane Ann Feiden on
7June 18, 1949; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Edward Peters was a member of the United States
9Navy and traveled to all areas of the South Pacific as a
10signalman on a 5-man amphibious landing craft; he was also
11involved in the first wave to hit the beach at Okinawa on
12Easter morning, April 1, 1945 while aboard the USS Caswell; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Edward Peters was the owner and operator of Ed
14Peters Realty for many years; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Edward Peters was a lifetime member and color
16guard for the Montgomery VFW Post 7452; he was a member of the
17Luxemburger Club and the Lucky 50 Club; he also served as
18President of the Serra Club and was a lifetime parishioner of
19St. Nicholas Church; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Edward Peters enjoyed fishing with his family and

1friends on Lake Delevan for many years; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Edward Peters was preceded in death by his
3parents; his sister, Rita (Don) West; and his nephew, Mike
4West; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Edward Peters is survived by his wife, Jane Ann
6(Feiden); his children, Sheila (Dave) White, Father Dan Peters,
7Jo (Mike) Klein, Diane (Brad) Hansen, Fred (Beth) Peters, and
8Greg (Ellen) Peters; his nephew, Steve (Holly) West; his 23
9grandchildren; and his 23 great-grandchildren; therefore, be
10it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
13his family and friends, the passing of Edward Peters; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Edward Peters as an expression of
17our sympathy.
