HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to honor the life of Charles C.
4Everett; and
 
5    WHEREAS, He served as a publicly elected Trustee of the
6Prospect Heights Public Library District Trustee for 21 years,
7and served as its President from May 2008 until his passing in
82010; and
 
9    WHEREAS, He was married for 62 years to Ruth L. Everett,
10with whom he raised 3 children; he was a grandfather and a
11great-grandfather; and
 
12    WHEREAS, He was a graduate of Austin High School; his
13college education was interrupted when he was drafted into the
14United States Army in 1945; he returned from Korea and earned a
15degree in electrical engineering; and
 
16    WHEREAS, He retired after 38 years from Case International
17Harvester; after his retirement,, he worked as a substitute
18teacher at Maine East High School; he was an Eagle Scout, a Boy
19Scout leader, and proud that his family had 4 Eagle Scouts; and
 
20    WHEREAS, He served as a Board of Election Judge for

1approximately 20 years, was an active member of the Medinah
2Shriners, and was a loyal longstanding member of Christ Church
3United Church of Christ in Des Plaines, where he served as a
4member of the Church Council; and
 
5    WHEREAS, In addition to serving his community, he enjoyed
6camping, scouting, golfing, Facebooking with his
7grandchildren, and tinkering in his basement workshop on
8computers and like items; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
10NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
11we honor the life of Charles Everett and his legacy in the
12Village of Prospect Heights; and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Charles Everett and the Prospect
15Heights Public Library as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
