HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the members of the Northern Illinois Regional Group of the Early Ford V-8 Club on the 45th anniversary of the Club; and

WHEREAS, The goal of the Early Ford V-8 Club is educating others on the history of the early Ford V-8 as well as the preservation of the car; and

WHEREAS, As part of its activities, the Club holds an annual veterans lunch to honor the veterans within the group; members have made trips to the Manteno Veterans Home in their antique vehicles; and they hold an annual Poker Run to benefit the American Cancer Society; and

WHEREAS, The Club has supported the restoration of the Desert Rat B-17 in Marengo; members have driven their cars to the Turners Club annual St. Patrick's Day lunch; and they attend national events to have their cars judged for proper restoration; and

WHEREAS, The Club does driving tours, attends charity Concours d'Elegence shows, visits museums and historical societies, and has events for members only; and

WHEREAS, The Club holds monthly meetings that include a "tech talk" to help the members with their vehicle restorations; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the members of the Northern Illinois Regional Group of the Early Ford V-8 Club and wish them well in their future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the members of the Northern Illinois Regional Group of the Early Ford V-8 Club as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
