HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Nurses throughout the State of Illinois and the world at large perform vital duties in the field of medicine and provide life-saving services to millions of patients worldwide; and

WHEREAS, Rachel Busch, a Registered Nurse who tragically passed away on November 6, 2011, devoted her life to helping others; she earned her Registered Nurse degree in 1985, her Master of Business Administration degree in 2003, and her Master's Degree in Nursing in October of 2011; she was employed as both a nurse and an instructor; and

WHEREAS, Rachel Busch was well known among her fellow nurses as a knowledgeable and hard-working nurse who strove for excellence and expected no less from those around her; and

WHEREAS, Advocate Condell will be establishing a scholarship in honor of Rachel Busch and her great work in the field of nursing; the scholarship will be announced during National Nurses Week in 2012; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we designate the week of May 6-12, 2012 as Illinois Nurses Week in the State of Illinois in honor of Rachel Busch and all of the hard-working nurses throughout the State of Illinois; and be it further

RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be presented to the Illinois Nurses Association and the family of Rachel Busch.
