HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Alvin Boutte, Sr.; and

WHEREAS, Alvin Boutte, Sr. attended a private Catholic school in Lake Charles, Louisiana as a child; he subsequently attended Xavier University in New Orleans; and

WHEREAS, Alvin Boutte, Sr. served his country with honor and distinction as a member of the United States Army; and

WHEREAS, After his stint in the Army, Alvin Boutte, Sr. became the owner of a successful drugstore in Chicago; he later entered the banking industry, where he helped to improve the technology in the banking world, such as introducing automated teller machines; and

WHEREAS, Alvin Boutte, Sr. was involved in numerous community service organizations and was an active member of his community; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Alvin Boutte, Sr.; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Alvin Boutte, Sr. as an expression of our sympathy.
