HOUSE RESOLUTION

2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to honor the Mother's Trust
4Foundation for its value to the State of Illinois; and

5    WHEREAS, The Mother's Trust Foundation is a non-profit
6organization supporting social service providers by offering
7assistance to children in need in Lake County; and

8    WHEREAS, Since being founded in 1998, the Mother's Trust
9Foundation has provided more than $1,200,000 to assist over
1014,000 children; some of the grants provided by Mother's Trust
11this year have been for basic clothing needs, trip funding for
12a student to attend a college tour as a senior, auto repairs,
13and fees to obtain vital records such as birth certificates and
14other legal documents; and

15    WHEREAS, Clients come to Mother's Trust through requests
16made by social service professionals, school counselors,
17social workers, court workers, and other such trained

1    WHEREAS, Every week throughout the year, the volunteer
2Mothers Trust Service Committee and staff meet to review grant
3applications; the criteria for receiving help are simple: the

521 and under) must reside in Lake County and clearly benefit
6from the assistance; the needs cannot be met in full anywhere
7else; and the benefit request must be time-limited; in 2011,
8$205,682 in grants were made to 3,117 Lake County children and
9their families; and

10    WHEREAS, Mother's Trust is a unique and valuable resource
11in Illinois because it is often able to make benefits and
12opportunities available which cannot be obtained from other
13sources; the Foundation's goal is to assist children in trouble
14or crisis, raise awareness of children's needs, link needs with
15community resources, and provide opportunities for volunteers
16to be involved; therefore, be it

17    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
18NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
