HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Sam Maniscalco for being an outstanding student and athlete during his college career at Bradley University and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; and

WHEREAS, He recently finished his collegiate basketball career in 2011-12 at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; he was named to the All-Tournament Team at the 2011 Cancun Challenge and was Illinois's Big Ten Sportsmanship Honoree; and

WHEREAS, Prior to his arrival at the University of Illinois, he played 111 games over 3 seasons at Bradley University, serving 3 years as co-captain; he was a 2-time Missouri Valley Scholar Athlete and Honors Court honoree; he posted a career scoring total of 1,210 points and 355 assists, earning all-conference honoree in 2010; and

WHEREAS, He is a graduate of Chicago's St. Patrick High School and was a 1st Team all-State pick by the Illinois Coaches Association; he is a graduate of Queen of All Saints Basilica Grammar School, where his father, Carl, serves as a coach; and

WHEREAS, During his time at Queen of All Saints, he achieved a record of 131-5 over 5 years; and

WHEREAS, He earned a bachelor's degree in sports communications and is currently pursuing a graduate degree at the University of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Sam Maniscalco on his college career and wish him the best in his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Sam Maniscalco as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
