HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Illinois State Police Inspector Kevin Eack on his retirement; and

WHEREAS, He graduated from the Southern Illinois University School of Law in 1983 and was admitted to the Bar by the Illinois Supreme Court; and

WHEREAS, He was sworn in as a Special Agent of the FBI in September, 1983 and worked as a special agent along the El Paso, Texas/Mexico border, handling interstate smuggling and kidnapping cases from 1983 to 1985; during his time there, he received a commendation from FBI Director William H. Webster for the arrest of a corrupt Texas Sheriff and 2 deputies; and

WHEREAS, He later returned to Illinois, serving as a State prosecutor for approximately 4 years; he served as an Illinois State Police officer and senior commander for 23 years serving as Assistant Deputy Director of the Division of Internal Investigations (LTC), Commander of the MSI Public Corruption Task Force, and after September 11, 2001, serving as the Senior Terrorism Advisor to the Director overseeing State counter terrorism efforts through 2009; and

WHEREAS, He was selected by the FBI to serve as a Director's Fellow at the National Counter Terrorism Center in 2009, receiving awards and commendations from U.S. Attorney General Janet Reno, FBI Director Louis Freeh, and from 3 State Police Directors for distinguished leadership in law enforcement; and

WHEREAS, He was selected to attend and later graduated from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School's Center for Homeland Defense and Security in 2007, and was elected alumni president; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Illinois State Police Inspector Kevin Eack on his retirement and wish him all the best in his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Illinois State Police Inspector Kevin Eack as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
