HOUSE RESOLUTION 757

WHEREAS, The Illinois House of Representatives adopted House Resolution 550 creating the Firearm Public Awareness Task Force to study concealed carry laws and public safety; and

WHEREAS, House Resolution 550 further directed that the findings of the task force be reported to the General Assembly by March 1, 2012; this due date for the report is no longer workable given the task force's significant responsibilities of gathering and analyzing information about concealed carry laws, the impact of concealed carry laws, and how public safety can be maintained if concealed carry became the law in Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that the task force shall hold public hearings and shall issue a report of its findings and recommendations to the General Assembly on or before December 31, 2012; and that upon filing its report the task force is dissolved.
