HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to celebrate Father Jude Randall's ("Father Jude") 50th Anniversary Jubilee as a Roman Catholic priest; and

WHEREAS, Father Jude was born in Downers Grove, where he lived at the corner of Franklin and Forest Avenues; his parents, Joseph and Teresa Randazzo, emigrated from Sicily, Italy; he has one sibling, Sr. Dorothy Randall, C.S.J., who is currently the president of St. Joseph School in Downers Grove; and

WHEREAS, Father Jude attended St. Procopius Academy (now Benet Academy) in Lisle, graduating from there in 1951; he professed his vows as Benedictine Monk on June 27, 1954 and graduated from St. Procopius College (now Benedictine University) with a degree in Theology in 1956; and

WHEREAS, Father Jude was ordained a Roman Catholic priest on May 28, 1960; he taught religion at Benet Academy from 1960 to 1973; and

WHEREAS, Father Jude has served as president of Benet Academy from 1992 to the present; under his leadership, and those of his predecessors, Benet Academy has established itself as one of the top academic high schools in the State of Illinois; and

WHEREAS, Under Father Jude's leadership, Benet Academy has embarked on 3 highly successful capital campaigns for the Father Ronald Gymnasium, the St. Daniel Performance Hall, and the St. Jude Science and Activity Center; these capital improvements to Benet Academy have served to further enhance the academic, athletic, and performing arts programs for its students; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we join the Benet Academy family in celebration of the 50th Anniversary Jubilee for Father Jude Randall; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Father Jude Randall as a symbol of our sincere congratulations.
