HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the staff and administration of Silver Cross Hospital as they celebrate the opening of their new facilities in New Lenox on February 26, 2012; and

WHEREAS, Silver Cross Hospital was founded in 1895 by the Will County Union of King's Daughters and Sons; it opened as a 33-bed, non-denominational, acute-care hospital in Joliet; and

WHEREAS, In September of 2008, construction was started on a new 289-bed hospital in New Lenox; and

WHEREAS, The Board of Directors, physicians, administration, and clinical caregivers believe the new hospital will allow them to achieve their vision, which is: "We, the Silver Cross Family, are committed to our culture of excellence, and will deliver an unrivaled healthcare experience for our patients, their families, and the community"; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate everyone involved in the opening of the new Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox and wish them continued success for years to come; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the administration of Silver Cross Hospital as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
