HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to honor Master Patrol Officer Brian Prochaska on the occasion of being designated the Joliet Police Department Policeman of the Year; and

WHEREAS, Master Patrol Officer Prochaska is a ten-year veteran of the Joliet Police Department; he is currently assigned to the Department's Joliet Narcotics Unit; and

WHEREAS, Master Patrol Officer Prochaska has been involved in various federal investigations with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF); and

WHEREAS, Master Patrol Officer Prochaska worked 21 cases in an undercover capacity during 2010; his work resulted in hand-to-hand transactions with multiple suspects involving cocaine, crack cocaine, heroin, ecstasy, and cannabis seizures; he was complainant on 26 search warrants involving narcotics and weapons offenses, which resulted in the recovery of 26 firearms and the seizure of over $27,000 in United States currency; his undercover purchases and search warrants have led to 36 felony arrests; and

WHEREAS, In addition to his assignment in the Joliet Narcotics Unit, Master Patrol Officer Prochaska has served on the Joliet Police Department's Special Operations Squad for seven years and has been a member of the Illinois Law Enforcement Alarm System (ILEAS) for five years; his reputation in technical work has earned him praise and credit from the Joliet Police Department; and

WHEREAS, Master Patrol Officer Prochaska's character and professionalism are beyond reproach; his dedication to duty and attention to detail in the pursuit of justice is worthy of the greatest respect; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we honor Master Patrol Officer Brian Prochaska on the occasion of his being designated the Joliet Police Department Policeman of the Year and wish him continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Master Patrol Officer Brian Prochaska as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
