HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Mr. Fred Kimble, Economic Development Director and Assistant Village Manager as well as Village Liaison to the Westmont Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Bureau Board of Directors, on his retirement; and

WHEREAS, He served from 2003 to 2011 as the Assistant Village Manager/Economic Development Director for the Village of Westmont; and

WHEREAS, He had previously worked for the Illinois Department on Aging, the Illinois Department of Commerce and Community Affairs, and as Mayor for the City of Galesburg; and

WHEREAS, He is a member of the DuPage Mayors and Managers Conference, the State Legislative Committee, the Illinois Municipal League State Legislative Committee, the Board of Directors for the Westmont Chamber of Commerce, the City of Springfield "Springfield 20/20" Strategic Plan, and the Sub Committee for Commerce and Industry; and

WHEREAS, In addition, he has served as an alderman for the City of Galesburg, Vice President of the Illinois Municipal League, as a member of the Small Cities Council, as a member of the National League of Cities, on the Board of Directors for the Peoria Multi County Drug Enforcement Unit, on the Board of Directors for the Carl Sandburg College Foundation, on the Board of Directors for the Knox-Galesburg Economic Development Council, and as President of the United Way of Knox County; and

WHEREAS, He was honored at a reception on November 14, 2011; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Fred Kimble on his retirement and wish him the best in his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Fred Kimble as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
