HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Benet Academy Girls Volleyball team on winning the Class 4A State Championship; and

WHEREAS, Benet Academy, established in 1887, is a four-year, college preparatory, Catholic high school located in Lisle; and

WHEREAS, The 2011 Benet Academy Girls Volleyball team enjoyed a very successful season with a record of 39 wins and only 3 losses; and

WHEREAS, On November 12, 2011, at Redbird Arena in Normal, the Benet Volleyball team defeated Cary-Grove in a best of 3 game series to take home the Class 4A State Championship; and

WHEREAS, The team is led by Head Coach Brad Baker, Assistant Coaches Kyle Reid and Kim Sayers, and Manager Emily Mattaliano; and

WHEREAS, The members of the team are: Brittany Kmieciak, Sheila Doyle, Mary Kate Whelan, Cara Mattaliano, Caileen Moran, Jenna Jendryk, Nicki Barnes, Abby Willett, Shannon O'Brien, Brittany Pavich, Sarah-Jane Pavlik, Annie Ferlmann, Emily Thron, Hannah Kaminsky, Nora Young, Gabby Pethokoukis, Maddie Haggerty, Meghan Haggerty, and McKenzie Kuhn; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Benet Academy Girls Volleyball team on winning the Class 4A State Championship and wish them the best in their future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Benet Academy Girls Volleyball team as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
