HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to recognize Gregory Brunst on his retirement as Public Works Director with the Village of Addison; and

WHEREAS, He was hired by the Village of Addison on May 5, 1969 as an operator trainee in the Water Pollution Control Department; he became plant operator in 1970, lead operator in 1972, foreman in 1976, and was appointed Superintendent of Water Pollution Control in 1983; and

WHEREAS, In 1990, he became Director of the Environmental Services Department; in 2005, the Public Works and Environmental Services departments were reorganized and he was appointed Public Works Director; and

WHEREAS, He currently serves as Chairman and Northeast Sectional Representative on the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency Operator Board of Certification; he is a past president of the Illinois Association of Water Pollution Control Operators and Illinois Water Environmental Association; and

WHEREAS, He has been recognized with the 1995 United States Environmental Protection Agency Operation and Maintenance Excellence Award, the 1989 Illinois Environmental Protection Agency Outstanding Operator of the Year, the 1994 Illinois Environmental Protection Agency Class A Facility Award, the 1995 Illinois Water Environmental Association Quarter Century Operators Club, the 2008 Central States Water Environment Association Treatment Facility Operations Award, and many other awards as well; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Brunst will retire on November 30, 2011; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Gregory Brunst on his retirement and wish him the best in his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Gregory Brunst as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
