HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Sergeant Edward Mangan on the occasion of his retirement after many years of dedicated service with the Village of Worth Police Department; and

WHEREAS, Sergeant Ed Mangan was born in September of 1959; he married Colleen Ann Mangan in November of 1983; and

WHEREAS, Ed and Colleen Mangan are the proud parents of three children, Riley, Bill, and Eddy; their son, Bill, currently serves in the United States Air Force; and

WHEREAS, Ed Mangan was hired by the Village of Worth Police Department on February 20, 1989; he graduated from the Chicago Police Academy on July 9, 1989; and

WHEREAS, Ed Mangan proudly served in the Patrol and Investigations Divisions, where he was promoted to Sergeant of Police on December 5, 2006; and

WHEREAS, Ed Mangan has received several awards, including numerous commendations, honorable mentions, and letters of recognition for his dedicated and professional service; and

WHEREAS, Ed Mangan has faithfully served the residents of the Village of Worth for 22 years and seven months; and

WHEREAS, Ed Mangan will retire from the Worth Police Department on October 1, 2011; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Sergeant Ed Mangan on his retirement, thank him for his many years of service protecting his community, and wish him and his family many years of happiness to come; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Ed Mangan as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
