| | 2 | | WHEREAS, Rose Mary Bastien, a woman of gentle and loving | | 3 | | background, has worked to advance the public good, support her | | 4 | | friends, and love and care for her family; and
| | 5 | | WHEREAS, Rose Mary Boucher was born in Murphysboro, on | | 6 | | August 14, 1936; her parents are Theodore Roosevelt (Ted) | | 7 | | Boucher and Katherine Margaret (Moniger) Boucher; and
| | 8 | | WHEREAS, Rose Mary (Boucher) Bastien is a longtime resident | | 9 | | of Murphysboro; and
| | 10 | | WHEREAS, Rose Mary Boucher married Joseph Albert (Joe) | | 11 | | Bastien on August 2, 1958, at the St. Andrews Catholic Church | | 12 | | in Murphysboro; and
| | 13 | | WHEREAS, Rose Mary and Joe Bastien are blessed with three | | 14 | | children: Joseph Robert Bastien and his wife, Teresa, Michael | | 15 | | Ray Bastien, and Carolyn Sue Bastien (Ihle) and her husband, | | 16 | | Mike (deceased), who all reside in Murphysboro; and
| | 17 | | WHEREAS, Rose Mary and Joe Bastien are blessed with four | | 18 | | grandchildren: Joseph J. (J.J.) Bastien, Jarod Dale Bastien, | | 19 | | Jennifer Lynn Ihle, and Lauren Kay Ihle, who all reside in | | 20 | | Murphysboro; and

| | 1 | | WHEREAS, Rose Mary Bastien was committed to serving her | | 2 | | community and the State of Illinois as the Administrative | | 3 | | Assistant for Bruce Richmond, State Representative of the 115th | | 4 | | District, from 1974 to 1992; and
| | 5 | | WHEREAS, Rose Mary Bastien also served the Murphysboro | | 6 | | Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 160 and the Jackson County | | 7 | | Regional Superintendent of Schools; and
| | 8 | | WHEREAS, Rose Mary Bastien continues to assist her | | 9 | | community and region through her dedicated service and | | 10 | | commitment to supporting and assisting of her fellow citizens; | | 11 | | therefore, be it
| | 12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | | 13 | | NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | | 14 | | we congratulate Rose Mary Bastien on the occasion of her 75th | | 15 | | birthday and honor her for her accomplishments in service to | | 16 | | the nation, the State of Illinois, and the City of Murphysboro; | | 17 | | and be it further
| | 18 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | | 19 | | presented to Rose Mary Bastien as a symbol of our esteem and | | 20 | | respect.
