HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Coach Wilbert Walters and the Aurora Sundowners Track Club as August 28, 2011 is proclaimed Coach Wilbert Walters Day in the City of Aurora; and

WHEREAS, The key mission of Coach Wilbert Walters and the Aurora Sundowners Track Club is to provide the youth of the Fox Valley area with an opportunity to enhance track skills and build character through competition; and

WHEREAS, Coach Walters has taught athletes, both male and female, the necessary skills to participate at the competitive level; he creates an environment which fosters personal growth and allows club members to develop life-coping skills; in the past 42 years, he has shown himself to be an amazing community leader and educator; and

WHEREAS, Together with the Aurora Sundowners Track Club, Coach Walters has promoted good work ethics; club members discover and learn patience and punctuality; they grow and learn to be honest, as well as other important characteristics; and

WHEREAS, Coach Walters has made it his lifelong commitment to help the youth of the Fox Valley area and make them healthy, productive, and valued members of the community, all while building character and extraordinary relationships; and

WHEREAS, The City of Aurora will proclaim August 28, 2011 as Coach Wilbert Walters Day; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Coach Wilbert Walters and wish him continued success and happiness for years to come; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Coach Wilbert Walters as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
