HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Robert M. Martens
4on his retirement as CEO of the Family Service and Community
5Mental Health Center of McHenry County; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Family Service has been a part of McHenry County's
7landscape for 51 years, and Robert Martens has been a vital
8part of the agency's growth for 33 of those years; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Family Service began as a simple out-patient
10in-office counseling service and today offers a variety of
11services, including home-based therapy services, community
12support services, school-based services, intensive outpatient
13services for both mental health and substance abuse disorders,
14psychosocial rehabilitation services for adults suffering from
15serious mental illness, child and adult psychiatric services,
16early intervention, and numerous other specialized services;
17and
 
18    WHEREAS, Mr. Martens served as President of the Village of
19Spring Grove for many years; he is a member of the Rotary Club
20of Crystal Lake; and he is an active member of the Richmond
21Spring Grove Chamber of Commerce; and

1    WHEREAS, Through his work with the Family Service and
2Community Mental Health Center, he promoted the Center and led
3to the Center joining with 10 Chambers of Commerce throughout
4the area as well as the McHenry County Economic Development
5Corporation; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Mr. Martens recently announced his retirement,
7which will take place in the Spring of 2011; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
9NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
10we congratulate Robert Martens on his work with the Family
11Service and Community Mental Health Center and wish him the
12best in his retirement; and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to Robert Martens as a symbol of our respect and
15esteem.
