HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate James Quinn on the occasion of his retirement as Fire Chief of the Deerfield-Bannockburn Fire Protection District after 21 years of dedicated service; and

WHEREAS, James Quinn has served the residents and businesses of the Deerfield-Bannockburn Fire Protection District for the past 41 years; he began his career as a firefighter in May of 1970; he steadily ascended the ranks of the district, becoming Deputy Chief in August of 1980 and Fire Chief in February of 1990; and

WHEREAS, James Quinn has been a member of numerous fire service organizations, including the Illinois Fire Chiefs Association, the Northeastern Fire Chiefs Association, and the Illinois Fire Chiefs Association's Educational and Research Foundation; he has also been a 20-year volunteer with the Illinois Fire Safety Alliance Burn Camp "I Am Me" and was a founding member of the Illinois Firefighter Memorial; and

WHEREAS, The members of this august body, along with his wife, Annette, and his daughters, Shannon and Robin, are proud of James Quinn's great dedication to the safety and well-being of the citizens of the Deerfield-Bannockburn Fire Protection District and the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate James Quinn on the occasion of his retirement and wish him many happy and healthy retirement years; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to James Quinn as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
