HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Mary "Mae" Arp
4Coleman of Oak Lawn on her 100th birthday; and
 
5    WHEREAS, She was born on September 5, 1911 to Charles and
6Mary Weiler Arp in Chicago and is the eldest of their 11
7children; and
 
8    WHEREAS, She married Joseph "Joe" Coleman on April 21, 1941
9at St. Paul's Church in Chicago; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Mary "Mae" Arp Coleman and her husband raised
11their children, Denise and Terry, at St. Sabina's Parish in
12Chicago and, after becoming "empty-nesters", moved to Oak Lawn;
13and
 
14    WHEREAS, Mary "Mae" Arp Coleman is a fan of the Chicago
15Cubs, White Sox, and Bears, reads the Chicago Tribune on a
16daily basis, walks to keep in shape, and never says no to an
17invitation to go out with family and friends; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Mary "Mae" Arp Coleman is an avid knitter and
19crocheter, making memories for her 6 grandchildren and 13
20great-grandchildren; and

1    WHEREAS, Mary "Mae" Arp Coleman will celebrate her 100th
2birthday with her family and friends on September 10, 2011;
3therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
5NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
6we congratulate Mary "Mae" Arp Coleman on her centennial
7birthday celebration and wish her continued good health and
8happiness; and be it further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to Mary "Mae" Arp Coleman as a symbol of our respect
11and esteem.
