HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Joseph John Fijak on his 50th birthday; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Fijak was born on June 22, 1961; he was a lettered athlete in football, baseball, and basketball in high school; he married his wife, Jane, in 1984; they have been married for 27 years and are the parents of Joseph John and Jessy; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Fijak is a devoted father and coached youth baseball and hockey; and

WHEREAS, He is a 30-year veteran of the high technology industry with humble beginnings as a customer service representative to his accession as the current Vice President of Avnet, a Fortune 150 company; he worked in Silicon Valley and traveled extensively in Asia as part of his career path; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Fijak is truly an entrepreneur to his core and developed and opened his own Manufacturer's Representative Firm and assisted a high tech IPO launch on NASDAQ; he has a diverse career portfolio and is an avid real estate investor and radio talk show host; he is a philanthropist and believes it is important to give back to entrepreneurs across the world including kiva.org; and

WHEREAS, His most important role in his life is that of devoted husband, father, and friend; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Joseph John Fijak on his 50th birthday and wish him the best for years to come; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Joseph Fijak as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
