HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Breese Central High School Senior Jena Hemann on the record-setting ending to her high school track and field career; and

WHEREAS, On May 21, 2011, she set new Class A records in the long jump and 100-meter dash; she also won the high jump and triple jump, becoming the first athlete in small school history to win 4 events at multiple State track and field meets; and

WHEREAS, Her time for the 100-meter dash was a new State record of 12.02 seconds and her distance for the long jump was 20 feet, 1.5 inches; and

WHEREAS, In 4 years, Jena Hemann has won 15 medals at State meets, 10 of which were championships; and

WHEREAS, The IHSA State Track and Field Meet was held in Charleston at O'Brien Field; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Jena Hemann on her impressive high school track and field career and wish her the best in all her future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Jena Hemann as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
