HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Skokie Police Chief Barry Silverberg on the occasion of 35 years of dedicated service to the Skokie Police Department; and

WHEREAS, Barry Silverberg started with the Skokie Police Department on September 9, 1976; he was promoted to the position of Chief in the summer of 2005, having served with the same department for the entirety of his career; and

WHEREAS, Barry Silverberg was instrumental in moving the department into its state-of-the-art complex on Niles Center Road; and

WHEREAS, Barry Silverberg presided over the department when it was recognized by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies as a flagship agency, recognizing its extraordinary compliance with the highest of standards; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Barry Silverberg on the completion of a lifetime of dedication and service to the Skokie Police Department; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Barry Silverberg as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
