HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are honored to congratulate Newport Township Fire Chief Mark Kirschhoffer on the occasion of being selected as Fire Chief of the Year for 2011 by the Illinois Fire Chiefs Association; and

WHEREAS, During his tenure as Newport Township's Fire Chief, Mark Kirschhoffer has been instrumental in numerous innovative projects, including the creation of the Specialized Response Team Training facility, the development of the State Mechanics Team, and the creation and development in the use of, and training for, sewer vacuum trucks for trench rescue responses; and

WHEREAS, Mark Kirschhoffer serves as the Vice-President of MABAS Division 4 and is the past President of the Lake County Fire Chiefs Association; in addition to his work as Newport Township Fire Chief, he also runs a trucking business; and

WHEREAS, Mark Kirschhoffer and his wife of 40 years, Pat, have four daughters; and

WHEREAS, Mark Kirschhoffer is well known throughout his community for his can-do attitude and his commitment to public service, his family, his work, and his community; and

WHEREAS, Mark Kirschhoffer serves as a model of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Mark Kirschhoffer on the occasion of being selected as Fire Chief of the Year for 2011 and wish him continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Mark Kirschhoffer as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
