HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the employees of SwedishAmerican Hospital in Rockford on the occasion of the hospital's 100th anniversary; and

WHEREAS, Over the last 100 years, SwedishAmerican Hospital has become a full service, tertiary, non-profit teaching hospital; as a subsidiary of SwedishAmerican Health System, the hospital serves the greater Rockford region, northern Illinois, and southern Wisconsin; and

WHEREAS, SwedishAmerican Hospital has earned a reputation for its commitment to quality healthcare, including clinical excellence, patient loyalty, and placing the needs and concerns of their patients first; SwedishAmerican Hospital was founded on June 6, 1911 by the Swedish people of Rockford; and

WHEREAS, The employees of SwedishAmerican Hospital will celebrate the hospital's 100th anniversary on June 6, 2011; and

WHEREAS, For 100 years, the employees of SwedishAmerican have lived the hospital's mission, "Through excellence in healthcare and compassionate service, we care for our community."; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the employees of SwedishAmerican Hospital on the occasion of the hospital's 100th anniversary and wish them continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to SwedishAmerican Hospital as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
