HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, State Representative Monique D. Davis and the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate President Obama and the members of his administration for successfully bringing Osama bin Laden to justice; and

WHEREAS, On May 1, 2011, President Obama announced to the world that U.S. soldiers had successfully found and killed Osama bin Laden, leader of the Al-Qaida terrorist network; and

WHEREAS, Through his actions, the President has helped provide a long-desired moment of closure for the American people and all those affected by the horrors of the attacks on September 11, 2001; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate President Obama and the members of his administration for successfully bringing Osama bin Laden to justice and honor them for their continued efforts to secure our nation and eradicate terrorism throughout the world; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to President Obama as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
