HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The Elmhurst Jaycees have announced that the recipients of the 60th Elmhurst Jaycees Distinguished Service Award are Kevin and Sarah Diamond; Kevin is a very active member of the Jaycees and Sarah is a former member; and

WHEREAS, Kevin has served as Chairman of the 4th of July parade, Jaycees Treasurer, and Jaycees President; he was also instrumental in helping to resurrect the Jaycees and the Distinguished Service Award banquet; and

WHEREAS, Sarah also volunteered her time for Jaycees events and was actively involved with the Jaycees; and

WHEREAS, Kevin has been a supporter of the Elmhurst Children's Assistance Foundation since 2004, including serving as the Treasurer and chairman of the golf outing; and

WHEREAS, He also led the Elmhurst School District 205 referendum in 2006; in 2009, he was appointed by the Elmhurst Mayor, Pete DiCianni, to co-chair the City of Elmhurst Financial Task Force; and

WHEREAS, Sarah currently serves on the boards of the Elmhurst Memorial Hospital Foundation and the Elmhurst YMCA; she has chaired and co-chaired the YMCA Dinner Dance since 2003, chaired and co-chaired the Elmhurst Memorial Hospital Chef Fest for 2010 and 2011, has been an active member of the P.E.O. since 1988, and has served on the Elmhurst District 205 Foundation Board from 2005 to 2011; and

WHEREAS, The Elmhurst Jaycees Distinguished Service Award will be presented to Kevin and Sarah Diamond on May 5, 2011; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Kevin and Sarah Diamond on receiving the Elmhurst Jaycees Distinguished Service Award; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Kevin and Sarah Diamond as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
