HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives hold in high esteem those organizations that are dedicated to improving the lives of their members through an emphasis on education and service; and

WHEREAS, District 8 Toastmasters was founded by Toastmasters International during 1940 and 1941; since that time, the local organization has enabled thousands of Illinois citizens from all walks of life to improve their communication and leadership skills; and

WHEREAS, District 8 Toastmasters will celebrate "District 8 Toastmasters Week" to coincide with the organization's semi-annual conference from April 24 to April 30, 2011; and

WHEREAS, District 8 Toastmasters has proven throughout the years to be an exemplary component of Toastmasters International, a worldwide organization dedicated to the development of communication and leadership skills; and

WHEREAS, It is fitting and proper that the members of this body should pause in its diverse legislative duties in order to recognize such outstanding Illinois organizations as District 8 Toastmasters at momentous times in its history; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we recognize and applaud the history, goals, and accomplishments of District 8 Toastmasters and express our most heartfelt best wishes for a highly successful "District 8 Toastmasters Week" from April 24 to April 30, 2011; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to District 8 Toastmasters as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
