HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Tim Milner, owner of WVLI Radio in Kankakee, on his business receiving the 2010 Good Neighbor Business of the Year Award; and

WHEREAS, WVLI ties the community together by making announcements for various groups about their activities, providing a place for politicians to advertise and express their views, sponsoring many community events, giving away countless prizes, pairing with other businesses to promote the area, recognizing area birthdays with the Birthday Club, adding some humor to the weekdays, making people of the area aware of traffic problems that they can avoid, and letting the people of Kankakee and the surrounding communities know of any emergencies or possible incumbent weather; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Milner was the co-chairman of the Kankakee County Training Center's 4 Club Tournament on September 23, 2010 at Oak Springs Golf Club in St. Anne; he is also the president of the Kankakee County Training Center Foundation; and

WHEREAS, Tim Milner is a supporter of many local charities and organizations, including: My Favorite Book, Pledge for Life/IKAN, Rebuilding Together, Kankakee Valley Theatre Association, Sugar Creek Symphony and Song, the Bradley Lions Club, United Way of Kankakee, Easter Seals, Harbor House, Zonta, Youth for Christ, Youth Uplift Ministry, Kankakee River Clean Up, Power Boat Nationals, the American Red Cross, and the Salvation Army; and

WHEREAS, He is also a proud supporter of local schools, the Helen Wheeler Center, the YMCA, Catholic Charities, Indian Oaks Academy, the Veterans Home in Manteno, the Kankakee County Fair, and the Bourbonnais Friendship Festival; and

WHEREAS, Tim is the proud father of Gene and Alexandra; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Tim Milner and offer our best wishes for his continued success in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Tim Milner as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
