HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Joseph Novotny on
4the occasion of his retirement after many years of service with
5the Illinois Department of Transportation; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Joseph Novotny began his career with the Illinois
7Department of Transportation in April of 1980 as a Maintenance
8Highway Maintainer; in May of 1982, he moved to the position of
9Emergency Traffic Patrol Emergency Patrol Driver, where he
10remained until February of 2001, when he became the Emergency
11Traffic Patrol Lead Worker; in May of 2002, he was promoted to
12the position of Emergency Traffic Patrol Lead Lead Worker; in
13December 2005, he was promoted to the position of Engineer Tech
14V for Maintenance/Bridges; in April of 2009, he returned to the
15position of Emergency Traffic Patrol Lead Lead Worker, where he
16remained until his retirement on March 31, 2011; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Joseph Novotny served as an Rosemont Auxiliary
18Policeman from June of 2006 to November of 2009; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Joseph Novotny received his Commercial Driver's
20License in 1982; that same year, he earned his EMT Medical
21Training degree from Columbus Hospital; in 1999, he became a
22certified Realtor through Century 21; in 2002, he earned his

1HAZMAT Certification; in 2009, he earned his Certification from
2Wreckmaster; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Joseph Novotny married his loving wife, Cheryl, at
4his aunt's house in Villa Park on November 29, 1980; together,
5they had two children, Becky and Nick; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Joseph Novotny coached baseball and softball in
7Park Ridge for many years; he has also served as a Eucharistic
8Minister at Mary Seat of Wisdom in Park Ridge; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Joseph Novotny serves as a model of hard work,
10integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of
11Illinois; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
13NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
14we congratulate Joseph Novotny on the occasion of his
15retirement and wish him many happy and healthy retirement
16years; and be it further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to Joseph Novotny as a symbol of our esteem and
19respect.
