HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, During the 97th General Assembly, House Resolution 814 created the Task Force on Railroad and Bridge Infrastructure to conduct in-depth research to identify the railroad tracks and bridges that are in need of repair so that the necessary infrastructure repairs can be done, and to report its findings to the House of Representatives on or before December 31, 2013; and

WHEREAS, The Executive Director of the Illinois Commerce Commission or his or her designee should be included as a member of the Task Force because the Illinois Commerce Commission, instead of the Illinois Department of Transportation, will provide staffing support for the Task Force; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that the Executive Director of the Illinois Commerce Commission or his or her designee shall serve as a member of the Task Force on Railroad and Bridge Infrastructure; and be it further

RESOLVED, That, instead of the Illinois Secretary of Transportation, the Speaker of the Illinois House of Representatives or his or her designee shall serve as the chair of the Task Force; and be it further

RESOLVED, That, instead of the Illinois Department of Transportation, the Illinois Commerce Commission shall provide staffing support to the Task Force and shall administer and prepare all reports deemed necessary in conjunction with the Task Force; and be it further

RESOLVED, That with these changes, the Task Force on Railroad and Bridge Infrastructure shall continue to operate pursuant to House Resolution 814 of the 97th General Assembly.
