HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the members of the Naperville North High School Huskies girls cross country team on the occasion of winning the IHSA Class 3A State championship; and

WHEREAS, The Naperville North High School Huskies bunched their top 5 finishers within 38 seconds and scored 113-133 over runner-up Lake Park to win their 5th State title at the IHSA Class 3A State championship in Peoria; and

WHEREAS, During the team race, the Huskies' Elly DeTurris (14th), Maria McDaniel (21st), and Judy Pendergast (23rd) all earned all-State honors; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Naperville North High School Huskies are Grace Carballo, Lizzie Deely, Elly DeTurris, Jenny Gibson, Ellie Gschwendtner, Emily Hamilton, Laura Houston, Kimber Meyer, Maria McDaniel, Alex Moxon, Judy Pendergast, Allison Ray, Kate Shannon, Emily Smith, Jenny Smith, and Allison Trezona; the team's coaches are Dan Iverson, Joanna Wilson, and Eric Thornton; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Naperville North High School Huskies serve as models of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that congratulate the members of the Naperville North High School Huskies girls cross country team on the occasion of winning the IHSA Class 3A State championship and wish them continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Naperville North High School Huskies girls cross country team as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
