HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the members of the Wheaton St. Francis Spartans girls volleyball team on the occasion of their victory in the IHSA Class 3A state championship; and

WHEREAS, The St. Francis Spartans defeated Richmond-Burton 25-21, 25-20 to secure victory at the IHSA Class 3A state championship at Redbird Arena; the team ended the season with a phenomenal 37-5 record; and

WHEREAS, The St. Francis Spartans' victory marks the first State title victory for the team in 6 years; and

WHEREAS, The members of the St. Francis Spartans girls volleyball team are Sam Dubiel, Lexi Riccolo, Natalie Murison, Lisa Mordell, Anna Melka, Kate Keegan, Becca Shearer, McKenna Kelsay, Mary Boken, Michelle McLaughlin, Sophie Koslowski, Kristin Acciavatti, Casey Salandra, Molly Haggerty, and Maddie Haggerty; the team's head coach is Peg Kopec and the assistant coaches are Lisa Ston, Dave Boze, Erin Kopec Tuttle, and Kate Rodriguez; and

WHEREAS, The members of the St. Francis Spartans girls volleyball team serve as models of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the members of the Wheaton St. Francis Spartans girls volleyball team on the occasion of their victory in the IHSA Class 3A state championship and wish them continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the St. Francis Spartans girls volleyball team as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
