HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Elisa Galvan for receiving Harper College's Motorola Solutions Foundation Award for Excellence Scholarship; and

WHEREAS, Elisa Galvan is a Hoffman Estates resident who dreams of becoming a teacher; and

WHEREAS, Elisa Galvan is captain of the debate team at Harper College; she began her role as a debater at Schaumburg High School where she was research chairman and led her teammates in researching legislation and public policy measures; by her senior year, she was vice-president and co-captain of the Schaumburg High School debate team; at Harper College, she has parlayed her debate experience into "impromptu" debate competitions and "extemporaneous speaking"; and

WHEREAS, Elisa Galvan hopes to transfer to DePaul University next year to complete her bachelor's degree in education and continue with her speech and debate activities; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Elisa Galvan on receiving Harper College's Motorola Solutions Foundation Award for Excellence Scholarship; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Elisa Galvan as an expression of our respect and esteem.
