HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the faculty and students of Creal Springs School on the occasion of the school's 100th anniversary on June 1, 2012; and

WHEREAS, The community of Creal Springs was created in the early 18th century as a trading post named Sulphur Springs; throughout the last 200 years, Creal Springs has been renowned for its natural springs, which formed the basis for its transformation into a booming resort community in the early 20th century; today, Creal Springs is still well known for its springs and their purported healing abilities; and

WHEREAS, The 100th anniversary of Creal Springs School was celebrated with an event featuring a dinner, tours of the new state-of-the-art school facility, raffles, tours of the old school, memorabilia on the wall of fame, a silent auction, and a raffle, among other activities; the event also helped raise funds to help support the school's current activities; and

WHEREAS, The faculty and students of Creal Springs School serve as models of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the faculty and students of Creal Springs School on the occasion of the school's 100th anniversary and wish them continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Creal Springs School as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
