HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate North Chicago Fire Department Fire Chief Theodore Wilder on his retirement; and

WHEREAS, Chief Wilder officially retired on June 7, 2012 with 28 years of service; and

WHEREAS, Highlights of his career include his promotion to Lieutenant on May 2, 1997; his promotion to Shift Commander on July 19, 1999, and his promotion to Chief on June 1, 2001; and

WHEREAS, He was certified as a firefighter, paramedic, and arson investigator, as well as many other certifications throughout his service; and

WHEREAS, Chief Wilder dedicated his career to educating the children and citizens on the importance of fire prevention and safety; one of the final projects he worked on was the update and purchase of new tornado warning sirens throughout the city, which he obtained by a grant; and

WHEREAS, Chief Wilder was an asset to the North Chicago Fire Department and will be missed by a grateful community; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Chief Wilder on his retirement and wish him the best in his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Chief Wilder as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
