HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS,The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Raymond W. Stringham of Homer Glen, who passed away on May 3, 2012; and

WHEREAS, He was born on March 11, 1925 in West Hempstead, Long Island, New York; and

WHEREAS, He served in the United States Navy during World War II; he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Fordham University in 1955; and

WHEREAS, He was an executive with AT&T for 42 years and retired in 1984; and

WHEREAS, He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Telephone Pioneers of America; he was a long-time fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears; and

WHEREAS, Raymond Stringham was the beloved husband of Helen, nee Powell; the loving father of Raymond "Skip" (Mary), Richard (Mary Ann), Robert (Frances), Margaret (Louis) McCoy, Carol (Calvin) Whewell, and Janine (Patrick) McIlheran; the devoted grandfather of 22; the great-grandfather of 22; and the fond brother of Mary Mainland; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Raymond Stringham; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Raymond Stringham as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
